Drone Strikes Target Kuwait Airport
A state news agency carried a statement from Abdullah Al-Rajhi, spokesperson for the country's Directorate General of Civil Aviation, who confirmed the strikes while offering measured reassurance to the public.
"No injuries or casualties were reported as a result of the attacks," Al-Rajhi said.
Emergency teams mobilized rapidly in response, according to Al-Rajhi, who noted that authorities "moved swiftly to the scene and took the necessary measures to contain the situation and assess the damage."
The spokesperson further confirmed that the strikes had inflicted serious harm on the airport's navigational infrastructure, stating that the drone attacks caused "substantial disruption by damaging the airport's radar infrastructure."
The assault comes as tensions across the Middle East continue their dangerous spiral. The attacks follow joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran that were launched last month — a campaign that has since triggered a wave of retaliatory Iranian missile and drone attacks against Israeli and American assets throughout the region.
No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the strikes on Kuwait International Airport. Authorities have not disclosed the origin or type of the drones involved. The airport's operational status remains unclear as damage assessments continue.
