British soldier loses his life in tragic accident in Ukraine
"He was injured in a tragic accident whilst observing Ukrainian forces test a new defensive capability, away from the front lines," the ministry said. It added that the service member’s family has been notified, expressing condolences: "Our thoughts are with them at this sad and difficult time."
The ministry previously acknowledged that a “small number” of British personnel are deployed to support Ukrainian armed forces, though they are not engaged directly in frontline combat.
